Concert : ILIZ TRO – DENEZ PRIGENT

This concert will be an opportunity for the artist with the “golden voice” to return to the essence of his art from which, for more than thirty years, he has drawn most of his inspiration: the Gwerz*. Traditional Gwerz or Gwerz of his composition will alternate, sometimes performed alone a cappella, sometimes accompanied with sobriety by three virtuoso instrumentalists: Maëlle Vallet (Celtic harp, qanûn), Jonathan Dour (violin) and Mathilde Chevrel (cello). A beautiful invitation for music lovers, whether informed or not, to go back to the source of this universal and timeless song, a true musical and poetic “diamond”, as it was described by the great poet Georges Sand. *A gwerz is a Breton song telling a story, ranging from an anecdote to a historical or mythological epic. Close to ballads or laments, they illustrate mostly tragic or sad stories, with a fantastic aspect.
