Conférence : Histoire de la peinture chinoise de 1850 à nos jours

This conference follows the one on the history of Chinese painting from the Han Dynasty to 1850. It is necessary to have in the background the troubled period of the history of China in the 20th century that Chinese painters witnessed and where they often took a position. Despite these difficulties, Chinese painting has continued to evolve from its own sources and foreign influences, and to remain very creative. We will successively discover the Shanghai School, the latest renewals of tradition, the birth of the modern movement, the links between art, society and politics, Chinese painters settled in France, to project ourselves into Chinese painting from the 1980s to the present day.
