Journées du patrimoine : Visite du Sémaphore du talut

COMPLETE. In 1859, the Minister of the Navy decided to build 135 semaphores on the coasts of France based on the same plan. In 1860, the Navy approved the construction of 4 semaphores around the coast of Belle-Île. Erected the following year, these semaphores are those of Talut, Er-Hastellic, Arzic and Taillefer. Today, Talut is now the only semaphore in operation on Belle-Île. Taillefer and Arzic are private properties. As for Er-Hastellic, it is possible to see its ruins near the Apothicairerie. Unlike these 3 semaphores, the silhouette of the Talut was modernized in 1987. Committed to a desire to effectively complete the surveillance of the maritime approaches to our Territory, the French Navy decided in 2022 that the Talut semaphore would be on standby 24/7, 365 days a year. Several time slots for visits: September 21 and 22: from 10 a.m. to 10:25 a.m., from 10:30 a.m. to 10:55 a.m., from 11 a.m. to 11:25 a.m., and finally from 11:30 a.m. to 11:55 a.m. Registration required at the tourist office. Visitors will not be allowed to take pictures inside our enclosure (photographs/videos) - French nationality - no possibility of access for people with reduced mobility - Identity card required during the visit.
