Our quality commitments

The Quality Tourism Mark

A nationally recognized brand

Obtaining the Quality Tourism Mark, in April 2015, constitutes for the Belle-île Tourist Office a recognition of our professionalism. It also fully contributed to the classification of the tourist office in category I, in March 2016, a classification that is currently being renewed.

“A piece of countryside in the middle of the Ocean, a nature beaten by the sea, proud, strong and true island characters: Belle-île-en-mer, it is to take the sea, to return to the essential on the largest of the Breton islands”

Our commitments to your satisfaction

for a sustainable and united tourism

The quality approach has initiated a reflection for an optimal organization of work. It is a tool at the service of all staff for better listening to visitors and partners, as well as the analysis of indicators to anticipate, mitigate and correct possible malfunctions.

The Quality Policy

It is based on the island values defined by the Community of Communes’ overall tourism development strategy. They defend and highlight the specificities and identity of the destination identified as follows:

“A piece of countryside in the middle of the Ocean, a nature beaten by the sea, proud, strong and true island characters: Belle-île-en-mer, it is to take to the sea, to return to the essential on the largest of the Breton islands”

The 8 values of the territory

  • Respect for a nature beaten by the sea and the wind
  • A year-round living island
  • A large island with a human dimension, welcoming, supportive and intimate
  • Tourism, support for a diversified economy valuing local know-how and a quality terroir
  • A piece of countryside – with a strong relief – in the middle of the Ocean
  • Island characters strong in their differences, insularity as an asset
  • An island and nature destination, land of experimentation and excellence
  • The freedom to get lost

Our quality policy is translated internally by the development of an annual action plan, which sets objectives, means, deadlines and measurement indicators for each action.

We are committed to offering our visitors and economic partners:

  • a warm welcome and informed advice
  • accurate and up-to-date information
  • advice on organizing your stay
  • an awareness of the preservation of the island and its resources
  • an accurate knowledge of the offer of our territory
  • a promotion and enhancement of the territory’s offer
  • an attentive listening on your remarks and suggestions

Destination Belle-île-en-mer Quality Group

Composed of members of the Management Committee and technicians of the Tourist Office, the Destination Quality Group meets at least once a year. It analyzes the results of surveys, remarks and complaints recorded each year. The various quality indicators cover the territory and highlight areas for improvement, emerging needs and points of satisfaction. A summary is written by the quality referent of the Tourist Office of Belle-île-en-Mer. This report is then used to prepare the next tourist season.
